Finally, for those who keep track of such things: I’ve seen two moose thus far, both busily engaged in tearing branches off trees for lunch. I believe I’ve heard at least one more — not the moose itself, but the neighborhood dogs going into such a frenzy that it’s likely that Alces alces (biologist talk for “Bullwinkle”) was passing through.
That, or a female in estrus. It doesn’t take much to frenzify dogs. Because they’re dogs.
