They like me! They really like me!

by Donna Freedman on May 17, 2010

A couple of my posts have been chosen for blog carnivals this week:

“I glean ketchup packets. So what?” appears in the 257th edition of the Carnival of Personal Finance, hosted this week by the Canadian Finance Blog.

“Calypso bread” is in this week’s Carnival of Money Stories, to be found at Personal Finance Journey.

I’m very happy to have been selected, and urge you to follow the carnival links. Plenty of good reads there.

From your ketchup packets post, there’s this quote:

“Or try this: Next time you see a penny on the sidewalk, stop and pick it up. This has garnered me more than a few stares and snide comments. But I was able to give an extra $34.54 to a food bank this way last year.”

This is GREAT. I have recommended the same thing, and am glad to see that you see value in that as well. These are unexpected finds, so why not be generous and give away to some folks that could desperately use it.

Ironically, I picked up a penny in a parking lot this morning. It was a dirty, discolored little piece of copper, but my frugal eye spotted it :) Hey, when accululated with other lucky friends it has value to someone in need.

@Squirrelers: I, too, have “frugal eyes” when it comes to money. Not even the dirty coins escape — although the newer ones are easier to spot in the sunlight, of course. ;-)
Thanks for reading, and for leaving a comment.
